Apple Bringing Five New Features to iPad 2

Tech experts have been speculating on what the next generation iPad will be like for months and we now have some more specs to add to the ever growing pile of rumours. Chinese news portal, Economy Daily News claims to have some inside information on five new features the iPad 2 has, listing new display technology, a video phone function, 3-axis gyroscope, better mobility and USB connectivity.
The prospect of the next Apple tablet having a USB port is bound to be welcomed by users who want easier file management and it would be nice to see from the manufacturer as they haven’t incorporated such connectivity options onto their iPhones and iPod’s yet.
The ‘better mobility’ aspect of the report suggests that the iPad 2 may have a lighter body, rumoured to be made out of carbon fibre, and it is largely believed that the ‘new display technology’ will see the tablet rocking a Retina display. EDN added that the 3-axis gyroscope will enhance gaming which could offer more third-party developers the chance to create iPad specific games and apps.
We are pretty confident that the video phone function upgrade, which is expected to benefit Apple iPad’s webcam suppliers,  will be the inclusion of FaceTime support, with additional rumours placing a 5 to 8 megapixel camera on the tablet too.
Although Apple has remained tight lipped about the iPad 2, we’re hoping that an official announcement will be on the way soon, seeing as Q1 is just around the corner.
