I dropped my iPhone 4 from waist high (I'm tall) on a concrete floor. It wound up face up, I don't know how it hit. The in case cracked in the corner where the camera lens is, but the phone is unharmed. A lot of luck, I'm sure, but I'm buying another of these to replace the cracked one. Also, I like it because I can reach all the controls without trouble. And it fixes the antenna issue, which is why I bought a case in the first place.
