Q: How to ascertain the actual power of solar panel?
A: Judge based on the industry average level. Current industry average conversion efficiency of solar panel ranges from 15% to 17%. And the surface solar energy is 1000W/m².
Here we can do the math:
Electrical energy converted from solar energy per square meter: 1000W/m²x15%=150W
Electrical energy converted from solar energy per square centimeter: 150W/10000=0.015W
How much electrical power can you get in 10cm²? 0.015W x10=0.15W.
iPone Accessories Review
I've had this product for nearly two weeks and here are my impressions. First of all, the price was very right on this unit, so I bought it despite a few iffy reviews. The first thing I noticed after allowing the unit to charge (USB initially, as I opened the box at night) is that the "charge indicator" LED will stay at "low charge" red whether you charge it for 2 hours or 20 hours (I have done both). Having a working charge indicator light would have been nice but it doesn't affect the functionality of the unit. I've used the charger to charge my MP3 player and two cellphones. The unit doesn't seem to have enough juice on a full charge to fully charge the battery on the heftier 3G cellphone, but it is able to get it maybe 90% of the way up which is good enough for a short term fix. I have yet to experiment with charging devices while the charger is capturing solar energy. The types of adapters that come with this unit are suitable for my needs; just don't lose them.
I am satisfied with this product. It won't charge your whole drawer full of devices on a single day's charge, but at very least you should be able to keep your devices from going dead. This product would be especially useful if you were going to be camping or visiting out of town. You don't want your cellphone to die on Friday night of a weekend visit somewhere because you forgot to charge up that day.
